How to Peel and Cut a Mango

Learn how to easily peel and cut this delicious tropical fruit!

With their tough skin, soft flesh, and odd-shaped pits, mangoes can be intimidating to cut! But with a little practice and a few simple steps, you'll be a mango pro in no time!

Using a curved paring knife or regular paring knife, remove a strip of peel around the circumference of the mango lengthwise.

Set the mango upright on the long end on a cutting board. Use a knife to feel where the pit is and cut the mango's side off the pit.

Pits can vary widely in shape and size so it's important to feel where it is with your knife in order to remove as much fruit from the pit as possible.

Repeat and remove the fruit from the other side of the mango.

Set the mango upright on the short end on a cutting board. Use your knife to feel where the pit is again and remove the fruit from the pit.

Once all the fruit has been removed from the pit, cut into cubes or strips of your desired size.
